Intermediate & Advanced Level Ride | Mt. Lakeway

  • Mount Lakeway Trails 903 Highlands Boulevard Austin, TX, 78738 United States (map)

Wheels down 8 AM. Join us for our first ever Advanced and Intermediate level group ride! This is a great way to test your skills at more technical locations than we typically visit. This ride is not for beginners!

We are getting this series started with none other than Mount Lakeway! Expect lots of elevation, switchbacks, technical climbing and flowy descents. Special Thanks to: Thom Flowers of Lakeway Area Mountain Bike Enthusiasts

This one-time waiver must be signed before joining ARR Group Ride Events (good through 2025)

This is for Advanced and Intermediate level adults 18 years and older. Under 18 years old may join only if accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times during the ride. We break into groups according to ability. We will not drop riders.

  • Helmets are mandatory!

  • Please bring plenty of water and electrolytes for the ride.

  • Please ensure your bike is mechanically sound.

  • Meet in the SW parking lot of Rough Hollow Welcome Center.

  • The ride lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Groups will start in following order:

Group A (Advanced): Steady pace, few stops, mainly active recovery.
Ride Distance: 12-14 miles

Group B (Intermediate): Steady pace with stops between trail segments. Riders should be comfortable riding varying and technical single-track terrain including medium to large rocks, roots, logs and medium to large drops. Skills practiced include body positioning, riding up and down rocks/ledges, wheel lifts (front and rear), fast cornering, switchbacks, endurance.
Ride Distance: 8-10 miles

If you are not sure of your pace you can go with a faster group and then wait for next group coming up on the trail should you need to drop back.
