Building & Maintaining Trails

Austin Ridge Riders Trail Crew hosts an average of twelve trail work days every year. We train all trail volunteers to help us maintain and/or expand our trail systems in responsible and sustainable ways.

We typically do trail work in every season except summer. Usually work happens after a rainy period, and dates are posted 24-hours in advance to our Meetup group. We provide all the tools volunteers need, and volunteers are expected to bring work gloves and wear pants and closed-toe shoes.

Advocating For Trails

To build great trails we work to build strong relationships with land managers, other nonprofits, and local stakeholders. Successful trails require years of planning, meetings, and compromise – and club membership supports us in this work. We frequently meet with local land managers, county planners, city Parks and Recreation Departments, and organizations in Central Texas to discuss opportunities for new trails.

Help us grow Austin’s mountain biking trails!

  1. Volunteer. Get involved in our trail building and volunteer days.

  2. Ride responsibly. Show others that mountain bikers respect the trails, nature, and other users.

  3. Become a member. Your support shows elected officials that the mountain biking community supports our trail advocacy efforts.

  4. Participate. Show up to public meetings, events, and rides.

Build. Ride. Grow.

Austin Ridge Riders gives back to the mountain biking community through trail maintenance and advocacy efforts. We are proud to be a chapter of the International Mountain Biking Association to advance greater trail access across the nation.
