RIDE LIKE A GIRL

Sadly this is our last ride of the summer season, it'll be too dark soon. Come join us for a ride, raffle and grilling. Austin Ridge Riders will provide a main dish, bring something yummy to share and what you want to drink. We have loads of goodies from our sponsors for the raffle, hang out to see what you win!

Ride Like A Girl is a women’s only mountain bike ride for all skill levels. Meet at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park under the pavilion near the softball fields. Arrive at 6:15 p.m., wheels down at 6:30 p.m.

This is a no-drop ride is for all levels of riders, we will break into groups according to rider levels - see below for skill level descriptions. All riders must bring a trail-worthy mountain bike, closed-toe shoes, water and a helmet to each ride.

If you have questions regarding equipment, clothing, skill levels or anything else that comes to mind, please reach out to the RLAG community at The Hub.

All are welcome to bring a cooler with whatever cold beverage and a chair for a little social time after the ride!

This online waiver (valid until 2025) MUST be filled out to ride with us.

While Austin Ridge Rider membership is not required, we do encourage you to join. We are a nonprofit mountain bike club that builds, maintains, and advocates for trails, and creates a welcoming community to ride with. We have been advocating for mountain bikers in Central Texas since 1987. For as little as $5 a month, your membership supports our club rides, trail maintenance, and advocacy work. What level rider are you?

Level 1: I am new to mountain biking and have only ridden on dirt a few times or not at all. I am excited to be introduced to the sport! Skills practiced: shifting, braking, and body position on the bike.

Level 2: I can handle riding on smooth trails but hesitate or walk my bike when there are small rocks, logs, roots, or when it gets steep. Skills practiced: shifting, braking and body position on climbs, descents and getting over rocks and roots.

Level 3: I am comfortable riding varying and somewhat technical, single-track terrain. I will ride over small rocks, roots, and logs (think curb size features) but don’t always know what I did to get through. Skills practiced: all of the above, small wheel lifts, small drops and control of the bike climbing and descending.

Level 4: I am comfortable riding varying and technical, single-track terrain. I will ride, or attempt to, over medium to large rocks, roots, and logs and down medium to large drops (think 1 foot and up sized features or several in a row). Skills practiced: body positioning, up and down rocks/ledges, wheel lifts (front and rear), fast cornering, switchbacks, endurance.

Level 5 / Advanced: Please consider joining us as a ride leader and/or sweep. We are always looking for new enthusiastic ladies to share our our love of all things bikes! Or, just come out to ride and hang with us and smile!

Why are the above rider levels important? We want everyone to have the best ride possible. If you are holding up your group, consider dropping down a level to work on necessary skills and fitness. If you are being held up by your group, move up a level and challenge yourself! If you are unsure of where to be, please talk to a ride leader!
