Cranksgiving Fun
We’re not sure the weather could have been any better on Saturday for a bike ride at Pace Bend Park! Throw in some Pozole for lunch, and a prize raffle supported by some awesome local businesses and you have Cranksgiving Presented by KOM Trails! This event helps raise funds for our organization and while we have moved about from venue to venue over the years, recent iterations consist of the same self-paced ride with the ability to win some sweet gear for each lap of the route that you complete.
Thanks to support from KOM Trails, we were able to secure space at the improved campground which offered more shade and a more relaxed setting than the trailhead parking lot! We also had better signage this year thanks to our partners at The Austin Sign Factory. Ray from Dialed Bike Co. returned again with the mobile repair van and demo bikes, and Manny Pandya took some gorgeous photos while he was out and about. Our treasurer, Jeff Daugherty is the one you can thank for the delicious lunch.
We had help from 28 volunteers throughout the day, doing everything from handing out tickets for completed laps to selling custom merch and checking riders in. We were stoked to see some of those volunteers ended up winning prizes! Did anyone catch the performance of “Lost In Your Eyes” by Debbie Gibson? Wasn’t that special?!
