Alden Hoffman has a huge smile on his face, and a just a little bit of mud on his legs!

Thanks to a lot of rain, the Austin Ridge Riders Trail Crew were able to schedule four work days at Walnut Creek and Brushy Creek parks. Thanks to everyone who made it out! If you would like to join us for a work day, be sure to follow our Meetup group to be notified of new events when they are posted.

Walnut Creek - October 5

It felt great moving, shaping and packing damp dirt again!! Great job by the Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club Trail Crew. We worked on Outer Log Loop—tuned up the rock-drop feature and the first log jump.

Thanks Rich Hollenbeck, Lara D O'Neal Bridges , Colin, Geoff Hargreaves , Henry, and Ryan English !!

Brushy Creek - October 15

Thank you to all that came out to today’s ARR Brushy Creek workday and to Tommy Kerstetter and Ronan O'Connor for organizing and leading. We had a great turnout which was tremendously helpful in building the new connector trail. Stay tuned, this trail should be opening in the near future.

Walnut Creek - October 29

It’s not too often we get rained out of an Austin Ridge Riders work day, but it happened this morning. Before it got too sloppy, we worked on this berm (originally built in Feb 2019) on Outer Log Loop. Depending on the weather this week, we’ll probably be back in the evening one day to get it packed in better. Thanks everyone!!!

Cullen McMorrow

Cullen grew up in Barton Hills riding mountain bikes in the Barton Creek Greenbelt, skateboarding, and riding BMX. He went to UT Austin and continued to ride BMX, building ramps and dirt jumps. He began mountain biking again in 2005 and has volunteered regularly with the Club since then. Cullen is a big fan of the "Flow Country" concept of trail building; where flow features and obstacle features are mixed into regular trails. Cullen travels to ride both cross country and downhill MTB whenever possible. In addition to serving as the Trails Program Director, he’s the Trail Steward for Walnut Creek Metro Park. Cullen is committed to building trails and features for a range of skill levels, supporting trail stewards, and growing the success of the ARR.
